How Much Does a Funeral Cost in Singapore? Full 2026 Pricing Guide

Viknesh Geevanantham27 May 20268 min read

Funeral costs in Singapore vary widely — from $1,888 for direct cremation to $15,000+ for a full traditional service. This transparent guide breaks down every cost so families can plan with confidence.

Why Funeral Costs in Singapore Vary So Widely

A common question families ask is: why can funeral costs range from under $2,000 to over $15,000? The answer lies in the number of components involved: the type and duration of the service, the wake location, the casket, the religious rites, floral arrangements, hearse, and whether embalming is required.

At Indian Life Memorial, we believe in complete pricing transparency. All our quotes are nett — meaning no hidden charges are added after the fact. What we quote is what you pay.

Direct Cremation — From S$1,888

The most affordable option, direct cremation, starts from S$1,888 at Indian Life Memorial. This covers: body collection, body preparation, simple casket, cremation at Mandai, Death Certificate handling, and return of ashes. There is no wake or ceremony included.

This is the right choice for families seeking a dignified but simple farewell, or for those who plan to hold a separate memorial later.

Standard Funeral Package — From S$3,888

A standard funeral package typically includes: body collection and embalming, casket, 1-day wake setup (tent or parlour), basic floral arrangement, hearse, cremation coordination at Mandai, Death Certificate and permit handling, and religious coordination (Pandit, priest, or pastor depending on faith).

Prices in this range (S$3,888–S$6,000) represent the majority of funerals arranged in Singapore and cover most families' needs comfortably.

Full Suite Funeral — S$6,000–S$15,000+

A full suite funeral includes everything in the standard package plus a premium casket, extended wake (2–3 days), elaborate floral tributes, multiple hearse vehicles, expanded sound and lighting setup, premium parlour or landed property venue, and end-to-end family concierge support.

Some families also opt to add a post-funeral memorial dinner, video tribute production, or repatriation of ashes to India or overseas — these are available as add-ons.

Common Add-On Costs to Be Aware Of

Beyond the core package, families should be aware of these common additional costs: Mandai Crematorium fees (included in most packages, but verify); columbarium niche rental (S$200–S$5,000+ depending on location and duration); Pandit or priest fees (usually bundled, confirm with your funeral director); extended wake days beyond the package (charged per day); catering for wake guests.

At Indian Life Memorial, all additional costs are disclosed upfront in your quote. We do not present surprise invoices after the service.

Does CPF Cover Funeral Costs in Singapore?

CPF savings cannot be directly used to pay for funeral expenses while the account holder is alive. However, after death, the CPF nominee(s) can claim the deceased's CPF balance, which families sometimes use to settle funeral-related expenses. The CPF Board notifies nominees after the Death Certificate is filed.

Singapore Citizens and PRs are also eligible for the Medifund Silver scheme in some circumstances. Our team can advise on any government assistance that may be available to your family.
